Year-end Mixer: Celebrating Seattle's creative community and industries

Please join us Wednesday, Dec 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute for our next and final Mixer of 2019. We will celebrate you and hundreds of industry and community stakeholders who took part in our conversations about the local creative economy and community this year! We’ll also share a summary of key themes we heard, identifying opportunities for city government to best support Seattle’s artists and creatives. 2nd Annual Seattle Film Career Day connects young people with industry leaders and experts

On Friday, October 25th, the City of Seattle’s Office of Film + Music (OFM), in partnership with One Reel and the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY), and with support from Seattle’s Office or Arts & Culture (ARTS) and Office of Economic Development (OED), hosted Seattle’s second annual Film Career Day. Approximately 350 youth ages 13-24, educators, and film industry professionals gathered at the Cornish Playhouse and McCaw Hall at Seattle Center for the day-long event featuring expert panels, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and the new experiential learning element. Nightlife Safety 2020 Initiative

The Seattle Fire Department inspects nightlife and event venues for the safety of patrons and staff. Starting in 2020, Seattle Fire Department will write citations for $373+ at the time of inspection for overcrowding, blocked exits or unsafe conditions. Additional information about fire safety inspections in nightlife venues and how to prepare for a successful inspection can be found here.

To help everyone keep buildings safe and prepare for successful inspections, there is also a new webpage with links to a selection of Seattle Fire's most popular guides and forms available in multiple languages.

Audition sign-ups are now open for the 19th Annual More Music @ The Moore!
