Important Updates for On My Way Pre-K 2025-2026
On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK) is changing for the 2025-2026 school year. These changes reflect new State laws and budget decisions and are meant to keep the program focused on families who need it most.
Learn more and ask questions during the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning's (OECOSL) webinar on June 12 at 1 p.m. ET. Register for the session here. For support, email [email protected].
The 2025-2026 On My Way Pre-K program will be funded by the State. There will be no Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) co-funding. Enrollment is limited to 2,500 children, including Limited Eligibility cases. Each voucher is capped at $6,800 for the year, and all OMWPK vouchers must have a match component of at least 5%.
Subsidy reimbursement for OMWPK vouchers will be $147.82 per week. This may result in an overage, which is the difference between the amount the voucher covers and the provider's rate. Families are responsible for overage payments to their provider.
To qualify, the child's parent or guardian must be working, in school, or in job training. Looking for a job is no longer a qualifying activity. Additionally, families must have an income at or below 140% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Only the Pre-K child will be eligible to receive a voucher. Siblings will need to apply through CCDF.
Vouchers begin when the child's pre-k program starts (usually late July or August). Before/after care and school breaks may still be covered through CCDF.
